KSI
offers Two-Day Integrated Bioinformatics Solution Workshop
We are introducing at our facility in Skokie, IL, an accelerated but effective two-day introduction to Bioinformatics. The application of computers to biomedical and biological research is opening doors to new careers in healthcare and sharpening the skills of those already there. Our Bioinformatics workshop is intended for those with a background in programming, healthcare, or medical research. If you are unable to attend this program, perhaps you can pass on to an interested colleague the professional tools and options made available by attending our workshop. In addition to this abbreviated introduction, we have semester-long classes, both online and on-site, devoted to the same subject.
Our schedule calls for the workshops to run from the beginning of January, 2008 until the beginning of May, 2008. The program covers mainstream research topics in accelerated modules that focus on Bioinformatics and computational analysis. Students will be taken step by step through authentic Bioinformatics projects that engage the most current designs and solutions to analytical challenges.
The two-day sessions will involve 16 hours of training. Central topics will include the use of BioPerl software, real data and statistical reporting, reading DNA sequence data and transcribing DNA to RNA. Translating DNA into protein, parsing FASTA files and Open Reading Frames will also be part of the training. All of our work will be conducted in a Virtual BioLab.
Tuition for the workshop is $1,999 per participant; the fee falls to just $1,495 for those enrolling two weeks before the date of the selected workshop. The two-day sessions run on a Saturday/Sunday daytime schedule. |
