Knowledge
Systems Institute and the KSI DIGITAL STUDIO present the 2009 Competition
in Digital Arts.
The Competition in Digital Arts brings together artists and digital
art communities to promote both digital technology through the arts,
and the arts through digital technology. Students are especially
encouraged to submit their works to the Competition in Digital Arts.
The competition consists of two categories:
(1) Short films should not be longer than five minutes. It can be
on any subject matter, with human actors/actresses or without. Short
films must be submitted in digital format. The submission format
includes avi, mov, wmv, rm and others. The size of the file should
be less than 100 MB. Winners will be asked to supply the digital
film at the finest resolution and therefore are not subject to the
above mentioned constraints in file size.
(2) Animation should not be longer than three minutes. The submission
format includes FLASH and others. The size of the animation file
should be less than 100 MB. Winners will be asked to supply the
animation at the finest resolution and therefore are not subject
to the above mentioned constraints in file size.
Winners in each category will be announced at the DMS09 conference,
and their works will be exhibited at the at the Center for Digital
Arts, Knowledge Systems Institute, USA and concurrently online at
the KSI DIGITAL STUDIO exhibition web space at http://media.ksi.edu.
Awards
for the winners include iPhone and laptops, other 3C products and
a tuition scholarship to take courses at Knowledge Systems Institute
(either on campus courses or online courses). The conference will
be held at the Hotel Sofitel in San Francisco, USA and the art exhibition
will be held at the Center for Digital Arts, Knowledge Systems Institute,
USA.
Submission Deadline: All works must be submitted on or before July
1, 2009.
