Hours & Access:

The library is available for KSI students and faculty during regular hours on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 3 pm. The library is also available by appointment and books may be returned to the KSI office staff during KSI business hours: Monday -Saturday 10:30 am to 6:30 pm.

The KSI library is available to the general public during the regular library hours listed above as well as by appointment. For access to the library's collection, appointments may be made through the KSI administrative office during KSI business hours: Monday -Saturday 10:30am to 6:30 pm.

Library Catalog:

To search for a book in the library's collection, please use the online catalog.

In addition to the print books available in the library, students can search the listed web sites on the eBooks page for free eBooks on a desired subject.  Students also may check the Online Resources page for free Internet resources and EbscoHost, an online research database.  If a specific book is desired and not available in the KSI library, students should search WorldCat to locate the book in a local library or you may contact the KSI librarian to borrow this book from another library.

Loan Period:

Books and periodicals may be checked out of the KSI library by KSI students for two weeks. A valid student identification card serves as the library card. One two-week renewal is allowed if there is not a hold on that item. Books may be renewed by contacting the KSI librarian or the administrative office when the library is not staffed. Interlibrary loan books are due according to the date set by the loaning library.

Fines and fees:

The fine for overdue materials is $.25 per book per day. The fee for lost or damaged books is $60.00 or higher (depending on the value of the book) plus a $10 processing fee. All fines and fees must be paid by the end of the semester prior to the issuance of grades, diplomas transcripts, and letters of recommendation.

Reference and Research:

Reference service and materials are available to all KSI faculty, staff and students during library hours and by special appointment after hours. For research help when the library is closed, please use Ask?Away, an online chat service. Reference materials regardless of format should not be removed from the library.

The Online Database & Resources web page identifies a number of free Internet resources for subjects included in the KSI curriculum. In addition, students can search EBSCOhost, an online research database, to locate articles on a variety of topics.

Students conducting research for their theses can make an appointment with the KSI librarian to discuss their thesis topics and their research needs. Appointments can be made during library hours or by special appointment by e-mailing the KSI Librarian at ksilibrary@ksi.edu.
