This document focuses on (1) Computer Science professional organizations, and their publications, and (2) major general literature databases. More specific databases for technical reports, algorithms, journals, or standards and specification have been grouped at the end under the heading "Directories and Guides." Many of the listings have been retrieved from subject headings (such as "Associations, Organizations & Societies" and "Bibliographic Databases and Indexes") on the SUNY Libraries Web site. Additional items have been retrieved from other online sources including the Internet Public Library , the National Academy of Sciences , and the University of Queensland Library . Annotations for the listings have been borrowed from the Web sites listed above, and from a 2006 paper by the librarian Michael Knee (Knee, M. "Internet Reference Sources for Computing and Computer Science:
A Selected Guide." J Lib Admin (serial online) 2006; 44 (1/2):453-473. DOI:10.1300/J111v44n01_07). |
