Accountant     Company Information   Beacon Funding Corporation is located in Northbrook, IL, a suburb of Chicago. Our internships offer an excellent opportunity to experience working in a corporate accounting environment. While an internship is no guarantee of permanent employment at Beacon Funding Corporation, since the program’s inception we have offered permanent jobs to more than 25% of our interns.   Job Description   The internship duties consist of: posting cash receipts, entering journal entries, booking leases, assisting with sales and personal property tax returns, preparing documents for bank fundings, filing UCC’s, workpaper preparation, and assistance with administrative projects. Training is on the job. Interns work with staff and managers on various projects throughout the internship. Staff and managers provide instruction on each task assigned to the interns and prior workpapers are provided as a guide to follow. Familiarity with spreadsheet programs (i.e. Excel or Lotus) is required as well as the ability to use a 9 key calculator. Interns must have daily access to a vehicle. Interns are evaluated on an informal basis. Quality of work, attitude, ability to learn quickly and follow up as needed are all characteristics sought in interns as well as permanent employees.
