Education, E-commerce and Entertainment
in Chinese and Oriental languages
for the new Millennium

The International Conference on Chinese Language Computing serves as a
forum for academic and industrial researchers and practitioners to discuss the application of new computer technologies
to Chinese and Oriental languages computing. The issues considered include
all aspects of computer processing of Chinese and Oriental languages:
input, character recognition, speech recognition, automatic
translation, teaching and retrieval from archives and web.
Of special interests are web-based applications,
e-commerce, multilingual distance learning and the use of XML in multilingual applications.
Following a one-day technical program on July 8, Saturday,
ICCLC2000 will feature tutorials and workshops on e-commerce, e-toys and virtual universities on July 9 Sunday at the Knowledge Systems Institute,
so that more people can attend.
Paper presentations will be approximately 25 minutes each with 5-10 minutes for questions and discussion.
Submissions of proposals to organize a session, a panel or a tutorial are also being solicited.
The conference will be a milestone event. There will be
a dinner boat tour.
A special rate of $119 per night (single or double) has been negotiated
with the hotel. If you can visit Chicago a few days earlier, the
July 4th fireworks will be the most spectacular! If you are interested,
you can participate in the 2000 International
Conference of Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering to be
held from July 6 to July 8 at the same hotel.
Sessions, Panels and Tutorial proposals should include a two or three-page summary containing the title, proponents, contact
information, abstract, description and the background of the proponent. Four copies of the proposal should be sent before
December 1, 1999 to:
