As the average lifespan among human beings increases, the market of e-health for the elders also concentrates more attentions in the world. Technologies for e-health (in digital home) are widely discussed recently. Some successful key factors are to integrate IT techniques and to model innovative services. Furthermore, interactive multimedia for the elders will come from various devices and sensors over Internet. Those result in more conveniences for the elders. In this special session, we would like to seek innovative technologies to promote e-health in digital home. The scope of this special session includes, but not limited to, the following:
Wireless Sensor Networks enabled e-health applications, Innovative e-Health Services, Applicable / Reasonable services for the elders, Smart Multimedia devices / sensors, Home devices integration and management, Middleware development for e-health, Vital signals mining and emergency alerting, Diseases risk estimation, Agent-based approaches to care elders, Personal information management (PIM), Smart personal information filter (PIF), Electronic medical records exchange, Smart remote diagnosis technology, and Heuristic optimization engine applications.
The 16th International Conference on Distributed Multimedia systems (DMS 2010) will be held at Hyatt Lodge at McDonald's Campus, Oak Brook, Illinois, USA October 14 to October 16, 2010.
