The Yangmingshan Nation Park is a mountains area in the northeastern suburbs of Taipei. The whole park covers an area of 10,000 hectares. Driving on the road from Taipei to Yangmingshan is quite enjoyable. Being 443 meters above sea level, the weather and scenery of Yangmingshan are quite distingguishable in spring, summer, autumn and winter. .....

Begining in Keelung, one of the rainiest cities in the world, there is the enchanting harbor, under the watchful eye of a 22.5 meter- tall ststue of Kuan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy. The second point of interest is Yehliu, or Wild Willow, a famous grouping of coral formations sculpted by the wind and sea over perhaps millions of years. A particularly interesting formation is the Queen's Head, So named because it resembles the head of Queen Nefertiti of ancient Egypt. ...

The National Palace Museum is located in Waishuanghsi, about eight kilometers west of taipei. It houses 600,000 treasures of China includeing bronze, calligraphy, paintings, embroidery, and jade products. After a round at the National Palace Museum, you can have dinner in one of the fine sea-food restaurants fronting the museum. They are reasonably priced and served fresh. Eating in a seafood restaurant here is a totally different experience in Chinese cuisine dining. .....

Wulai is an aboriginal village, famous for its waterful and tribal dancing. A pushcar ride on the light rails from the entrance of the village to the waterfall is a thrilling and pleasant experience. You can buy a Chinese costume as your souvenir from Wulai. ....

In 1692. the Spanish occupied Keelung and a nearby stretch of the north coast. Three years later, they extended their holding to Tamsui where they built a hilltop castle they christened Fort San Domingo which inhabitants called Hung Mao Cheng meaning " Fort of the Red Haired Barbarians."
