SOA-Based Software Engineering

Special Session in SEKE 2009

The 21st International Conference on Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering (SEKE'09)

Hyatt Harborside at Logan Int'l Airport, Boston, USA

Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) shifts the focus of software development from application programming to service composition based on standard protocols. With a great potential to enhance system flexibility and extensibility to meet the dynamic changing business needs, it has been one of the most promising computing paradigm in the Internet era. Service-based software are by nature heterogeneous, dynamic and collaborative. Engineering of the SOA system faces a lot of new challenges such as availability, interoperability, trustworthiness, reliability, sustainability, maintainability, etc. Dependability has been the major obstacle for the wide acceptance of SOA paradigm. The theme of the special track, SOA-Based Software Engineering, is therefore concerned on the research and practice of SOA dependability throughout the lifecycle of service-based software development including modeling, deployment, verification, validation, maintenance, and evolution.

This special track aims to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners to exchange the newest and most interesting findings, results, and visions of software engineering methods, techniques and tools for constructing service-based software systems.

This special track invites all the state-of-the-art submissions on all the aspects related to dependable software engineering research and experience of SOA-based software systems. The submission topics include, but are not limited to, the followings:

Papers must be written in English. An electronic version (Postscript, PDF, or MS Word format) of the full paper should be submitted using the following URL: SubmitPaper.php. Please use Internet Explorer as the browser, and select the paper type "Xiaoying, SOA-Based Software Engineering ". Manuscript must include a 200-word abstract and no more than 6 pages of IEEE Computer Society Two-Column Format for Proceedings (include figures and references).
