C# VB.NET Career Program
 

The fundamental C# VB.NET Career program consists of a single introductory course. Students may take additional advanced programming courses to supplement the basic knowledge introduced in CIS322 in order to develop specific skills or special focus in specific areas of the C# VB.NET platform.

CIS 322: Object Oriented Programming

C# is an object-oriented programming language and is designed to work with Microsoft's .NET platform. C#, one of the favored languages among those programming for Microsoft .NET platform, aims to facilitate the exchange of information and services over the Web as well as to help C# developers succeed in creating a safe, simple, component-based, high-performance and highly portable consol or web application.

This course is recommended for those who have little or no programming experience, or for those who might be picking up Visual C# (pronounced "C-Sharp") as a second language.

CIS 338: Web Programming using ASP.NET

ASP.NET is a part of the Microsoft .NET framework, and a powerful tool for creating dynamic and interactive web pages. In this program, complete ASP.NET references about built-in objects and components, and their properties and methods, such as HTML server controls reference, Web server controls reference, and Validation server controls reference are studied.
Prerequisites: CIS322.

The course will cover the following major concepts of ASP.NET:

ASP.NET Introduction: This includes: ASP.NET vs ASP, ASP.NET Installing, ASP.NET Pages, ASP.NET Server controls, ASP.NET Events.
ASP.NET Forms: This includes: ASP.NET Web forms, ASP.NET Maintaining the ViewState, ASP.NET The TextBox control, ASP.NET The Button control
ASP.NET BindingThis includes: ASP.NET Data binding. ASP.NET The ArrayList object, ASP.NET The Hashtable object, ASP.NET The SortedList object, ASP.NET XML files, ASP.NET The asp:Repeater control, ASP.NET The asp:DataList control
ASP.NET DatabaseThis includes: ASP.NET DB Connection, ASP.NET 2.0 New Features, ASP.NET 2.0 Master Pages, ASP.NET 2.0 Navigation Controls
ASP.NET ReferencesThis includes: ASP.NET HTML Server Controls Reference, ASP.NET Web Server Controls Reference, ASP.NET Validation Server Controls Reference.
